StopMotion

Stop Motion (also known as stop action) is an animation technique to make a physically manipulated object appear to move on its own.  The object is moved in small increments between individually photographed frames creating the illusion of movement when the series of frames is played as a continuous sequence.

Your Task
You and your partner will create a short stop motion film.  You can use what ever medium you wish: clay, lego, toys, paper, etc.  You are not able to use Animation-ish as it is being used at another station. Your film needs to have:
- a story: beginning, middle, end
- be around 30 seconds (or longer)
- it needs to make sense

Your StoryBoard
Your storyboard is an outline of all the scenes that you are taping.  You should use a variety of camera angles.  Different camera angles are used for different things: example - Close Up's are used to show expression and a long shot show location and action.

You should storyboard your video before you start taping.  It will allow you and your partner to know what your are taping, who needs to bring what, and all that needs to be done to finish this film.

Getting Started
1. Plan your movie - storyboard
2. Gather your materials, make your backgrounds and put it all together
*Mr. Bonnici may have what you need - just ask him*
3. Film your movies
*Make sure you use a variety of camera angles - each different camera angle is a new video clip*
4. Import your videos into iMovie
5. Add titles, voices, background sounds, etc.
6. Export your video
*Your StopMotion films will be put on my VEST YouTube Channel*

Reflection
Once you are done you will reflect on your learning by leaving a comment on this blog.
